Why is it improper to "break wind" in-front-of your significant other?>>Mainly in-bed?

Wife-to-be hates the "dutch-oven" treatment...she says that the proper course of action is to retreat to the bathroom during sleep and any other time i have the "urge" to "cut the cheese"...especially since i am in my mid-30s. i should "act my age"...who's right? or am i just a typical guy? ----signed Windbag
