I have a lion fish that wont eat anything that isn't alive.?

I've had him for about a week and a half, and gave him rosie's in the beginning. I tried freeze dried krill, tried it on a string, then i tried fresh shrimp, soaked in garlic, on the end of a piece of airline tubing, and still nothing.
