JBL p1220D problems with wires?

The wiring on the speaker was messed up up when i purchased it. SO I took of the lead connections and fixed the wiring to coils. Now I dont know whats positive and negitive. There is no markings on speaker other then the screw on wire terminals being colored and I took them off during the repair. I tried hooking it up and cant tell the difference in the two. Please help dont want to damage this baby she hits wayyyy to hard!
