MY BEST FRIEND CAN GET IN SEROUS TROUBLE!?

see i have four best friends and i hang with Cindy the most, she told me this thing, yesterday when she was out shopping she STOLE something! she did because her parents won't get one thing for her and thats a cell phone! her parenets are very strict she does 30 mins of homwork a day even on summer vaction! but why does she steal? i am scared if she gets in trouble! her parnets does not know, why would she do this? please answers!
