First you would have to get into medical school then you would have to get accepted to the surgical specialization part of the school - which is much longer than most other parts as one could ume. Then you would go into further specialization into a different part of the body most likely (Cardiac, brain, trauma, etc.). Take baby steps and plan ahead. It is very costly and the the costs of malpractice insurance, lawsuits, and the schooling itself can be heavy. But it can be a very rewarding career also.
